Building Management System

BMS

Central control system for a building's mechanical and electrical services including HVAC, power, and access control.

Full Definition

A Building Management System (BMS), also called a Building Automation System (BAS), monitors and controls a facility's mechanical and electrical services — typically HVAC, lighting, fire, and access control — through sensors, controllers, and actuators communicating via BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks. In data centres, integrating BMS data with DCIM allows coordinated management of IT and facility loads. PODTECH specialises in integrating legacy BMS platforms with modern DCIM and IoT analytics, enabling efficiency gains without replacing existing infrastructure.
