Google And Minsait Partner to Provide Cloud Solutions in Spain
Google Cloud and Minsait, a Spanish tech company, have just announced the expansion of their alliance to jointly offer cloud solutions in Spain, targeting public and private sector organizations and to help accelerate the country’s digital transformation.
Through this expanded partnership, Google Cloud intends to offer the elasticity and agility of a public and hybrid cloud based on open source technology, with the expectation of enabling Spanish organizations to innovate autonomously, without vendor lock-in. While Minsait is to provide its expertise in external encryption key management, security services, cloud infrastructure management services, and local support, as well as ongoing data center auditing.

As announced, Google Cloud will ensure the security of data both at rest and in transit, while making data location available in a new Google Cloud region that is scheduled to open in Madrid in 2022. Furthermore, the alliance is expected to help Spain’s organizations reduce their own carbon footprint – benefiting from Google’s efforts and investments in sustainability and carbon-free energy.

This expanded strategic alliance was first announced last May with the aim of offering products and services aimed at the digital transformation of companies and government institutions, and it recently witness the launch of an AI Lab in Granada in Spain, by Minsait and the University of Granada, with Google Cloud as a technology partner.
