- Hybrid Cloud Platform: this type of cloud computing combines public and private cloud systems, allowing data and applications to be shared between them.
- Cloud Computing Platforms Based on Services/Model
- Software-as-a-Service: cut down the need for user to install applications as well as burden of maintenance. Users, access this software platform via browsers while the provider who is in charge of the data center of the service, will be the one in charge of maintenance. Examples include G suite, Dropbox, HubsSpot etc.
- Platform-as-a-service: this is a cloud-based services for creating applications where provider only charges for utilities used within the platform. The direct users of a cloud platform are developers, not end users. Examples include, Apache Stratos, Windows Azure etc.
- Infrastructure-as-a-service (Hardware- as-a-service): in this type of cloud platform, the provider concentrate on the provision of infrastructure via the internet, which could include, hardware component, storage, server, data center space and network. Examples include cisco Metapod, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Compute Engine etc.
